MediaConsumer

media_list.pngHere at Apperceptive, we have several media junkies on board. We've longed for a way to keep track of all the books and movies and, well, media we consume and couldn't find anything that suited our needs. And thus, MediaConsumer was born. MediaConsumer grabs data (e.g. thumbnail, release date, title) about a piece of media from the internet and then stores it locally. It also lets you keep track of its state (consumed, consuming, to be consumed), give it a rating and review the media in a blog entry.

Right now you can only pull data from Amazon and only associate one piece of media with an entry. As this is a 0.1 release, the feature list will certainly grow. Here's a rough outline of our future plans:

  • Searching for Amazon items from within MT
  • Importing data manually or from sources other than amazon
  • Allowing commenters/other users to rate media items
  • Associating multiple media items with one entry
  • Documentation. :)

For those who are anxious to give it a shot, we have provided a code sample on the documentation page.
