SphinxSearch replaces the core Movable Type search application with an incredibly fast MySQL search tool called Sphinx. Once you've installed the application and plugin, you won't need to make any changes to your templates; SphinxSearch intercepts the search request and returns your results incredibly fast.
SphinxSearch is completely free. The MT 3.x and MTE (1.5.x) versions are stable but the MT4 version is still considered beta, but has been used in production environments before.
